Question What is the value of old 45 record sleeves?
I have The Rolling Stones, "Honky Tonk Women", Paul Revere and the Raiders, "There She Goes", Donovan, "Sunshine Superman", The Lovin' Spoonful, "Daydream", The Rolling Stones, "Paint It Black", The Beatles, "Help", The Beach Boys, "Good Vibrations", and more. All are in excellent condition.
Best Answer The sleeves alone are not worth much unless the record is with them. I always browse through Ebay as a quick reference, or if you have a vintage record store in your area, they could probably use them, but they wouldn't offer collector price.

Question How much does not having the sleeve for a 45 record decrease the value of it?
I have a TON of 45 records but none of them have sleeves or anything, it is just the record. They're all in perfect condition, just nothing with them. How much would the value decrease on them if I sold them? And would it be better just to donate them somewhere that could find cases, etc.? i.e. a record shop, vintage store.
Best Answer The sleeves increase the value greatly, but the fact is that more than 90% of all 45s sold were sold in plain white wrappers with label sized holes, not the treasured sleeves.

Question what was it like to buy an LP or 45 record brand new?
did the record have sellophane around? did the record come inside the sleeve or did you take the cover to the checkout? what about 45s,that came in those paper sleeves.. were they wrapped so the record did not fall out? just curious.
Best Answer nothing came cellophane wrapped in those days the 6 inch singles were kept behind the counter and you asked the assistant LP covers were on racks, you picked the cover you wanted and took it to the counter, the actual records were in their paper sleeves behind the counter and the assistant put it into the sleeve for you

Question What are the out to out diminishes of a 45 rpm record sleeve?

"Out to out" should be 7 inchishes (!), but seems like that's up to down or down to up, because left to right "extrimishes" on the Decca cover I measured was nearer 7+1/4 inchishes .... "In to in" diminishing diminishes seemes to be 3 + 1/4 inchishes (that's the hole in the middle) ..... Desperately looking for my vernier calipershes so I can get these measurements absolutely rightshes ! Laura .... ;-)

Don't use this method to clean 78 RPM records. And no, I don't have any affiliation with Bags Unlimited. That's just where I buy these types of supplies....not that I wouldn't accept free stuff from them. ;-)
